This course is 15 MINUTES long and contains the following videos, each of which can be selected from the video player above:
This video will explain the theory behind the triplet rhythm and will demonstrate how it sounds. This lesson also includes a simple triplet-based exercise.
This exercise is a very simple rock bassline that makes use of triplets in the second and fourth bars. Remember to play all three notes of the triplet evenly.
This is a more active bassline which uses triplets more regularly. As you’ll hear, triplets fit perfectly with the drum groove in this exercise.
In this exercise, there is a rest on the second part of many of the triplets. This is a great example of a shuffle groove, something that works well in all musical styles.
This exercise is another rock bassline that also makes use of the shuffle feel. Slides and hammer-ons are also important parts of the line here.
