This exercise is a simple diatonic chord progression in the key of C: Cmaj7-Am-Dm7-G7-C. A mixture of three- and four-note voicings are used.
This exercise is based on the chord sequence of a 12-bar jazz blues in the key of F. Lines such as this really demonstrate how much is possible with the technique.
This exercise is a more complex chord progression, again in the key of F minor. You’ll notice that all of the voicings here exclude the fifth of the chord.
This exercise features a similar chord progression to the popular jazz standard ‘Autumn Leaves’. This progression will be revisited in the intermediate tapping course.
