This video gives an overview of the 'content over patterns' theory that we will be taking to learning scales. This approach will allow us to break out of the standard 'box shapes' and will enable us to freely play the scale all over the fingerboard.
In this video we will begin working on the C major scale, playing it over one octave. We will do this initially on one string, then on all four strings. In doing so, we will be learning to focus on the notes in the scale rather than memorising fretboard patterns.
In this video we will develop the ideas covered in the previous one and begin playing two octave C major scales all over the fingerboard. By the end of this lesson, you should be comfortable playing the scale all over the instrument.
