In the previous video course we covered the first ‘box shape’, an extremely usable group of notes that fall easily under the hand on any part of the fingerboard. We’re going to take this concept a little further in this course, adding one more note to the existing shape.

In this video we’ll take a look at the second box shape. This is essentially the same as the first shape, but with an added note that can make our lines more interesting.
This exercise makes use of both of the box shapes.
This exercise is a rock riff that makes use of the second box shape from the open E-string position.
In this exercise the new box shape is used from D in the first bar, A in the second and G in the third.
