Intermediate Level – Tapping Technique

This course is perfect for those who have worked through the Beginner Tapping course and are looking to take their skills even further. In this series of courses, we’ll be looking at more advanced concepts such as contrapuntal playing and linear tapping techniques.

Each of the categories shown below contains several sub-courses containing many hours of detailed instruction. For each of these courses there is a downloadable resources folder containing PDF worksheets (available to subscribers only).

Developing Rhythmic Independence

This course will cover the fundamentals of ‘contrapuntal’ playing. Put simply, you'll be learning to play different parts with each hand.

Contrapuntal Tapping

This course covers contrapuntal playing. In most cases, the fretting hand will be playing a bassline, whilst the picking hand plays a chordal, or melodic part.

Linear Tapping (Part 1)

This video course is the first of three that will examine the linear tapping technique. Using linear tapping, it’s possible to play very fast sequences of notes.

Linear Tapping (Part 2)

This course covers some popular variations on the linear tapping technique. These will offer considerable scope for creating your own lines.
