Red Hot Chili Peppers – ‘True Men Don’t Kill Coyotes’
‘True Men Don’t Kill Coyotes’ is the opening track from the self-titled debut album from Red Hot Chili Peppers. Although it was not released as a single, a video for the track was filmed, and the band performed it live when promoting the album. It later appeared on the Abbey Road EP, and on the compilation album What Hits?!. The band performed it sporadically during the eighties, but unfortunately it has not been played since 1989.
This song features a slapped bassline and is a great piece to work on if you’ve got the basic mechanics of the technique under your belt. The line is relatively simple and features a lot of repetition, making it perfect for those who are just getting started with the slap technique.
