Description
Ed Friedland’s Building Walking Basslines is a complete method book for learning how to improvise walking basslines. Using common jazz progressions such as the jazz blues and ‘Rhythm Changes’, the book teaches the concept of walking bass from the ground up, beginning with roots, fifths and octaves, then expanding to arpeggio-based lines. Approaches to chord tones such as dominant chromatic approaches are covered in detail and there are ten common jazz standards to practice over at the end of the book. All examples are supported with audio files that can be downloaded from the publishers (Hal Leonard) website.
