  1. The best Level 42 transcriptions by far! Review by Unknown Customer

'As the great man doesn't read music this is the closest thing you're going to get to a transcription of Mark King's work. I have the whole series and consider it fantastic value when set against the time you would have to take analysing these tracks from CD. Mark plays so fast I don't think its a task I could realistically undertake. Stuart gives phrasing for left and right hand allowing you to develop good slap style making using of right and left hand ghost notes. The spiral bindings are also great allowing you to lay the music flat and ensure the books don't fall apart after extended use. Stuart's website has lots more information and he even helped me with a technical query on of the transcriptions by email. I've seen many Level 42 transcriptions and these are the best by far. You'll need a good metronome to go with them!' (Posted on 9/18/09)

  2. A great book, full of info and well worth buying Review by Unknown Customer

'Having grown up listening to and wondering how I'd ever master the bass lines that Mark King plays, I was delighted to find that there was someone who had taken the time and effort to transcribe them for the pleasure of distinctly amateur bass players like me. Having owned the book for a while and not really being able to read music, I've found the book to be of great use. Stuart is obviously very good at what he does and for those who are much better at playing than me and can understand all the musical terminology that is used, there is a wealth of information. Subtle nuances that I've not really been able to hear on tracks as well as detailed fingering are explained. Of course the transcriptions are in TABLATURE as well for us play-by-numbers gang, but one cant help but learn more about musical annotation as you go along. All in all a great book, full of info and well worth buying, as are all in Stuart's range.' (Posted on 9/18/09)
