Highly Recommend This Book Review by jgroh
I highly recommend this book. I have played bass for 25 years, but since I play mostly rock, I dont get to slap very often. I wanted to get my slap skills back up so I bought this book. Wow is all I can say! Very informative and the amount of info is awesome. Two thumbs up!

Great book. Thanks. It's good to have some of the more advanced
techniques and rhythms broken down and explained clearly. (Posted on 9/22/09) -
Ultimate Slap Bass Review by Carlo, West Covina, California
'I''ve purchased lots of publications on slap bass. This one takes it further. To the author Stuart Clayton.... BRAVO! Killer grooves and killer bass tone on the included CDs (I want one of those GB Basses).' (Posted on 9/18/09)

Ultimate Slap Bass Review by Aaron, Tucson,AZ
'I've purchased just about every book,Cd & Video out their the on the subject. This is by far one of the best slap book/Cd out their. The price was a little steep which was why I kept putting it off.But now that I got it,it''s defintely worth the investment. The majority of the exercises/licks are medlodic and can be used in a practical situation. The book''s spiral bound makes it easy to use on your music stand. I recommend it for intermediate-Advance players who are looking to spice up their slap technique. Slap On!' (Posted on 9/18/09)

Excellent learning tool Review by Buddy, Tennesse/USA
'There seems to be a lot of books on slapping out there. This is well worth the cost. It comes with two CD''s, spiralbound and twice as much material as any other book on Slapping. A complete workbook for the beginner to the accomplished player. Clayton covers all aspects of slapping. It''s not for the complete beginner to slapping, you''d do well to get a DVD on begininng slapping if you''ve never tried it before. The exercises are MUSICAL and worth the effort to learn. He builds quickly on each lesson bringing you to challenge yourself. If you work hard you''ll be rewarded with good chops and the knowlege to make your own grooves. Don''t be put off by the price, it''s imported from Great Britain and the exchange rate makes it more expensive. This book is more than worth the price.' (Posted on 9/18/09)

Fantastic! Review by Sean Nicholas
'Got the Slap book today. First impressions are fantastic - I've been going through the book all day. Comparing this book to other ones on slap it just leaves anything else wanting. I like the way it gets down to the nitty gritty very quickly and unlike other books this gets you playing useful and listenable grooves by exercise number eleven. Great recordings too; it's essential to have accompaniment so that you hear the bass in context; so many tuition CDs have soloed bass which really doesn't put the parts in context. I also like the feel of the writing, it's just like having a tutor with you'. (Posted on 9/18/09)

Great job! Review by Stu Hamm, Virtuoso bassist with BX3
'Great job Stuart, and I don’t mean myself! Mr. Clayton has written a fine book dealing with the many varied techniques of slappin’ that bass, I picked up some new stuff myself!' (Posted on 9/18/09)

Absolutely Fantastic Review by Neil Ramsay
'This is an absolutely fantastic book. Over the 30 years I've been playing bass, I've bought a number of books on the slap bass style and this is LIGHT YEARS ahead of any of them. It starts out with the simple stuff but doesn't dwell on it for too long; it immediately begins to introduce musical examples which allow slap bass novices to see how to apply the concepts. The book goes through all the techniques applicable to "normal" slap bass and in later chapters introduces some of the more contemporary techniques such as double-thumping. All this is accompanied by two CDs of recorded examples which are a joy to play along with. Like all Stuart's other books this one is excellent, indeed, it's probably his best work yet. If you're looking to learn slap bass, this is the only book you'll ever need'. (Posted on 9/18/09)
