Zander Zon Tunings Questions

Zander has posted some notes for those who wish to perform his compositions on a standard bass guitar. These notes provide guidance for those bassists who wish to use conventional bass strings (rather than piccolo strings). Whilst retunings are still required, these are minimal and allow the pieces to be performed according to the TAB. The only difference is that the pieces will be played in a different key. ‘Nothing Else Matters’ Solo Bass Arrangement

Bassline Publishing author Stuart Clayton has recorded a video performance of his solo bass arrangement of the Metallica classic ‘Nothing Else Matters’. This popular arrangement was originally intended for the Solo Arrangements for Electric Bass book, but copyright restrictions meant that it wasn’t possible to include it. The sheet music and MP3 for this piece can be downloaded from the FREE Stuff section of the site. Enjoy!

Solo Arrangements Book – Update

We thought we’d post an update on the progress of the long-awaited Solo Arrangements for Electric Bass book… The good news is that the book is now finished aside from a final proof read. It’s looking fantastic and is very BIG – over 200 pages! There are some great pieces in the book, including of course ‘The Simpsons’, but also music from solo bassists Zander Zon and Aram Bedrosian. Over the next few weeks author Stuart Clayton will begin recording the audio tracks that will accompany the book. Doing so will be time consuming, but the aim is to have everything finished ready for a late summer release. All audio files for the book will be provided as a free download rather than on a CD included with the book. This helps to keep the cost of the book down for our customers. We’ll post further updates throughout the next few weeks.
